I’m a Fun Addict. I’m Addicted to Fun.

Dudes.

This is me (usually).

Bug Says: reflect on the past.

This is me on camp.

bugging out

Seriously, every time I go to camp I’m completely useless when I come home.  The moms think it’s great, but Tank thinks I have a problem.  I tried to play it off as narcolepsy, maybe a sleep disorder, but he’s not buying it.  He knows.  I’m addicted. I’m addicted to fun.

It’s totally embarrassing.  If I pull a long shift at camp I can’t even stay up to watch my nighttime stories, and tonight is just another example of that.  I waited all week for The Voice and before it’s even a glimmer on my TV screen I can barely keep my eyes open.

I guess I’m going to have to work on being a less fun girl.  It might not be possible – but I’m going to try.  I don’t think I could handle cutting down on my days at camp – I’d go through an ugly withdraw and would most likely start lashing out at my loved ones.

I’m home tomorrow for a rest day, so I may look up some outpatient treatment centers so that I can start to face my addiction slowly and steadily.

Stay cool my babies,

12 Months in to my life, I’m Turning 1

Dudes.

It’s time we had a serious talk about life.

Bug Says: reflect on the past.

look in to my eyes. can you see what i’m thinking? no reason, just curious.

I turn 1 years old on Friday.  It’s a pretty big number: 1.  Truly, I don’t even know where these last 12 months have gone.

As I stand here looking out at what I can only assume is the last 95% of my life, I feel a renewed sense of responsibility not to waste another day.  I mean, it would be so easy to just live day in, and day out, chewing bones and playing with my friends at camp, but I want my life to mean something.  I want my legacy to be greater than just my run for class president and my impending olympic gold medal (specific sport, yet to be determined).

Today after camp I was pretty spent so instead of training (it’s wicked windy out) I got on my iPad to google things while my Aunt Ellen was on, and I came across this video.  I think this kid is my long lost brother.

Seriously, it’s like he took the words right out of my mouth.  I mean, that was half of my campaign platform for camp, just minus the dancing.  I don’t have the dancing down yet, but I have a darn fine swaggle (swagger + waggle) when I walk, and you better believe I use it to my advantage.

So, this birthday, this monumental anniversary of [my] birth, I will be taking paws (pause?) from my regularly scheduled life to reflect on what it is that makes me come alive and what path I’m going to take.  Also, I’m thinking about watching Space Jam.

In lieu of gifts, please do the same.  And when you’re done watching Space Jam, think about how you’re going to be a leader, and a boss.

Fall updates.

Dudes, how’s it hangin’?

It’s becoming a pretty crisp fall here in cville.  My first sign was that it feels a bit cooler in the mornings, my second was when the pool closed at camp.  The moms even took Herman to his winter home so Tank has moved his office to the couch.  He loves that thing.  I’m pretty sure he’s keeping his secret journal somewhere in the cracks but I haven’t had enough time alone in there to get my paws on it.

As the fall has been rolling in the mom’s have been super busy with their businesses and new projects, so I’ve been able to talk them into taking me to camp a couple more times a week.  It’s awesome.  I think the increased frequency has helped expedite my relationship development with some of the regulars.

Today my buddy Lexi and I got a little publicity on the camp Facebook page – a picture snapped right after he finished telling me a joke.  That guy is always cracking me up.

So, two cats walked into a bar…

Today when I was leaving camp I saw this dude Howie with his parents.  It’s so weird to see my camp friends outside of play group, but I think that might be a good angle to take if I’m going to secure solid votes for class president.  I sent tall mommy an email about FINALLY scheduling a play date with my friend Fiona.  I’ve been on her to schedule it for DAYS, and honestly, it’s like she doesn’t even read my emails.  She’s had a stomach virus for a few days, but I can’t let a little illness hold back my campaign.

I’m staying home with Tank tomorrow so I’ll be sure to post more about those ‘adventures.’  Tank has been a changed man these last few months so his plans are far less dangerous and far more BORING, but that’s a story for another time.

I need your votes. And dolla, dolla bills y’all.

Dudes,

Guess WHAT! I’m in the running for the Real House Pets of Cville photo contest.

The top 12 winners are featured in the 2013 Calendar for the SPCA here in Charlottesville.  I’ve always wanted to be a centerfold, and here’s my opportunity.  Lets do this people.

I’ve been practicing my poses.

With all this focus Tank and I have been putting on my training, my competitive juices are flowing and I just can’t help myself.  I’m pushing hard to win, so please VOTE!  Each vote costs $1 (tax deductible to the SPCA) so you can submit as MANY votes as you want, but you just need to sign up, buy some votes and VOTE FOR ME!

All the proceeds help the SPCA provide fosters and care to pups that still haven’t found their forever homes.

Hope you all had sweet weekends.  Tank and I took a long rainy day on Saturday to catch up on some housekeeping items, but we’ve got lots to update you on — BIG week coming up!

Stay cool my babies,
